Two Persons Arrested Over Demolition Of Nigerian High Commission Building In Ghana
Police Command in Ghana have arrested two persons in connection with the demolition of the staff quarters of the Nigerian High Commission in Accra, Ghana capital.
MDB had reported that the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama condemned the incident which occurred on June 20, demanding that urgent action be made by the Ghanaian government to find the perpetrators.
Head of Public Affairs, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Juliana Obeng in a statement released on June 24 by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghanaian police disclosed that two persons have been arrested.

The statement reads;
The Criminal Investigations Department in the course of investigation on Monday 22nd June 2020, arrested two persons involved in the demolition of a building on the premises of the Nigerian High Commission in Accra. The suspects involved in the act, have been charged with the offences of Conspiracy to Commit Crime to wit; Unlawful Entry and Causing Unlawful Damage contrary to sections 23(1), 152 and 172(1b) respectively of the Criminal and other Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29) and will be arraigned before court.
Also, Ghanaian President, Nana Akufo-Addo during a phone call with President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday expressed his sincere apology for the demolition of the building.
The Ghanaian President told President Buhari that he has directed a full investigation into the incident.
The arrested suspect will be arraigned in court.
