Veteran Yoruba actor, Gbolagade Akinpelu, popularly known as Ogun Majek, has died on Thursday morning.
He reportedly passed on at his home at Imalefalafia, Oke-Ado in Ibadan, Oyo state.
The President of Theatre Arts and Movie Practitioners Association of Nigeria, Bolaji Amusan, better known as Mr Latin, confirmed his death.
The deceased had in April appealed for financial support for heart surgery.
Mr Latin said;
He died this morning and our colleagues in Oyo State are there to do all necessary things. Everybody knows he was a good man. He was a thorough professional. Our members, both in Nigeria and abroad, including other Nigerians, did all they could to save his life; but unfortunately, we lost him.
Another Nollywood actor and producer, Tunde Ola-Yusuf, confirmed his death in a post on his Facebook page.
The post reads;
From him we come and onto him we shall return. Alhaji Gbolagade Akinpelu Ogunmajek has returned to his creator. May God almighty rest his soul among the righteous.
