A 23-year-old girl identified as Sherifat Suleiman has allegedly killed herself over incessant fights with her brother.
The incident occurred at about 4pm on Sunday July 12, in Isawo area of Ikorodu-West Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos state.
Suleiman reportedly decided to kill herself when she could no longer withstand the physical and psychological assault from her brother she started living with after the death of their father.
Neighbors found her lying on the floor writhing in pain with whitish discharge from her mouth.
Suleiman died while being rushed to the hospital after drinking a substance believed to be insecticide.
Upon examining her body, the neighbours alleged that they noticed bruises on the legs and laps of the lady.
The deceased who lived in a two-room apartment with her brother, was preparing for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) before taking her life.
