Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, popularly known as D’banj, has sued his rape accuser, Seyitan Babatayo for N1.5 billion.
In an initial lawsuit, D’banj demanded N100 million from Seyitan Babatayo for ‘defamation of character’ after she accused him of rape and demanded an apology through her lawyers.

The new demand is contained in a suit signed on Friday by Dbanj’s lawyer, Mike Ozekhome, brought before a federal high court in Abuja.
In the suit, D’banj is demanding N1 billion from his accuser for general damages which he said her allegation had caused him.
He is also requesting another N500 million from the lady for aggravated punitive and exemplary damages.
The suit partly reads;
An order directing the defendant to pay to the claimant, the sum of N1,000,000,000 (One billion naira) only representing general damages over the untold embarrassment, derision, public ridicule, odium, obloquy, marital disharmony, mental agony and psychological trauma which the defendants tweets and publications have caused the claimant. An order directing the defendant to pay to the claimant, the sum of N500,000,000 (five hundred million) only, representing aggravated, punitive and exemplary damages.
The suit also demanded that Seyitan writes D’banj ‘a letter of unreserved apology for the offensive tweets and posts.’
In addition, D’banj‘s lawyers prayed the court to grant;
An order of perpetual injunction restraining the defendant from further publishing, tweeting or posting offesnive libelous statements.
The lady had alleged that D’banj raped her at Glee hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos, in 2018 — a claim the entertainer had consistently denied.
Series of controversy have trailed the rape allegation, which led to the alleged arrest of Seyitan late June.
After her being allegedly released from police custody, the lady released a statement detailing the timeline of her case with D’banj.
Seyitan stated that she was arrested and held for 24 hours after which she was released to D’banj’s team who took her to an undisclosed location.

Seyitan also alleged that she was denied access to her family and lawyers, threatened her, took over control of her social media account, and coerced her to retract her statement.
