Breaking: Ganduje Lifts Lockdown, Orders Kano Civil Servants To Resume
Kano state Governor Umar Ganduje has lifted the lockdown imposed on the state as part of measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
The state’s Director-General, Media and Communications, Salihu Yakasai, made this known on Thursday.
He said the government, however, maintained that the nationwide 10pm to 4am curfew imposed by the Federal Government remained in place in the state.
The governor also directed that commercial tricycle operators are to carry only two passengers.

Governor Ganduje also directed all civil servants from level 12 and above to resume duty from Monday, July 6, but also to maintain safety regulations.

Governor Ganduje stated that he relied his decision on the fact that the State on June 25 submitted 154 samples and non was found positive.
He added that on June 27, 492 samples were submitted and only 4 were tested positives, and June 28, 320 samples were submitted and only 5 were tested positives.
The Governor stressed that;
With these we can beat our chest and said we are winning the case and there is no need for lockdown.
The state government has directed all markets to reopen and operate fully, while schools as according to the Federal Government would remain closed.
