On Monday, Nigeria hit the 33,000 mark of total coronavirus, having 33,153 cases with 13,671 discharged patients and 744 causalities.
With the new toll, there are now 33,616 total cases, 13,792 recoveries and 754 death cases across the country.
Also, according to NCDC’s situation report, total samples have been tested nationwide, have increased from 183,294 to 186,309 as at July 13.
Meanwhile, the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 pandemic has urged Nigerians to find a way to get tested for the infection to know their actual status as cases increase.
Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and Chairman of the PTF, Boss Mustapha, stated this during the task force’s media briefing in Abuja.
He advised that government and board meetings should be restricted to virtual conferences as well as unnecessary travels by government officials.
Mustapha, however, allayed fears of death from being infected, noting that COVID-19 is not a death sentence.
