537 stranded Nigerians in the United States of America (USA) and Cyprus due to coronavirus lockdown have been evacuated on Saturday by the Federal Government.
325 arrived from the USA arrive Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
All evacuees tested negative to COVID-19 before boarding and are now on a 14 day self-isolation as mandated PTF on COVID-19.
Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) confirmed the arrival of the evacuees on its official Twitter handle.

Earlier today, Foreign Affairs Minister of Nigeria, Geoffrey Onyeama also announced that the 212 Nigerians from Cyprus would arrive in the country on Saturday, 18th July.

He stated that some of the evacuees are Nigerian students from Cyprus, Nigerian professionals in Turkey and few Nigerian professional footballers.

Over 3,000 Nigerians have so far been evacuated from various parts of the world, among those who have indicated interest to return home following the COVID-19 pandemic.
