Edo 2020: PDP Appoints Gov. Wike As Campaign Chairman
Peoples Democratic Party’s National Working Committee (NWC) has appointed Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike as Chairman of Edo State Governorship Election National Campaign Council.
The party also appointed Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, as the deputy chairman of the council.
This was announced by PDP on Friday via its official Twitter handle, stating;
PDP NWC appoints Governor Wike as Edo State Governorship Election National Campaign Council Chairman. The deputy chairman is Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Fintiri.

The PDP candidate in the election, Godwin Obaseki, won the primary election unopposed after his opponents stepped down.
His main challenger for the September 19 governorship election is Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Obaseki, the incumbent Edo governor, decamped from the APC to the PDP while Ize-Iyamu joined the APC from the PDP.
