Galyn Gorg, Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air And RoboCop 2 Actress, Dies At 55 From Cancer
Actress Galyn Görg, best known for her roles in Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and RoboCop 2 has died at the age of 55 following a battle with cancer.
The TV and film star was just one day away from turning 56 when she died on Tuesday, July 14.
Her family confirmed the sad news via a GoFundMe page set up to help with the funeral costs.
They said;
Galyn means so much to everyone in the family and her passing away came as a shock. She was diagnosed with cancer throughout her entire body and lungs.
The family of the actress, who was getting treatment in Oahu, Honolulu said they were “unaware of just how sick she was.”
The message on GoFundMe reads;
Galyn Gorg was and is huge part of our family, she means so much to every one of us. She was diagnosed with cancer throughout her entire body and lungs. The doctors claimed she only had days maybe a week to live, and after remaining optimistic and praying for a miracle, she has sadly passed.
It continues;
We were unaware of just how sick she was as the diagnosis was a shock to the entire family. We hastily bought tickets to Oahu without a second thought, as she was getting treatment there. Since spending a great deal of time and money, we are now looking for donations for funeral services. Any donation is greatly appreciated, even prayers! If possible please share, we want to send her off beautifully as her heart and spirit were filled with generosity, love, kindness, forgiveness, and compassion.
She was best known for her role as Angie in RoboCop 2 and her portrayal as Helena alongside Will Smith in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
Galyn was also a starring dancer on two separate Italian variety shows, Fantastico and SandraRaimondo Show.
Her many acting credits include Robocop 2, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Xena: Warrior Princess, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager and Nightingales.
Her most recent appearance came in 2019’s A Christmas Princess.
She will star in upcoming movie Teller’s Camp, alongside Olivia Olson and Megan Ward, that is set to be released in early 2021.
