Rapper Nicki Minaj has revealed that she is pregnant and expecting her first child with husband Kenneth Petty.
The Grammy nominee made the announcement on Instagram by sharing a stunning image where she cradled her bare baby bump as she wore a floral mesh string bikini and silver platform high heels with the caption; “#Preggers”.
For months, there have been rumours that the chart-topping singer was pregnant, but she never confirmed nor denied.
Nicki fueled pregnancy rumours in May when she shared another topless snap to promote the video.
Many fans focused on the seemingly strategic way she was ever-so-slightly covered up, with a pair of high-waisted silver shorts sheathing her midsection.
Nicki also strategically covered her stomach in new snaps to promote a new release.
The 37-year-old rapper previously sparked pregnancy speculation in June 2019 when she and Jimmy Fallon ate dinner at Red Lobster eatery where she used to work.
During the dinner, she said;
For the record; that was iced tea in that lobsterita glass. No alcohol was consumed in the making of our dinner date.
Minaj previously spoke about her desire to become a mother, telling Complex publication in 2014;
My biggest fear is that I will become so consumed with work that I will forget to live my personal life to the fullest. If I’m done with my fifth album and I don’t have a child by then, no matter how much money I have, I would be disappointed, as a woman, because I feel like I was put here to be a mother. … I definitely will be married before I have my baby. I want to make sure I do it in that order. I’ve always felt like that since I was young; my mother always put that in my head.
The ‘Anaconda’ singer and Petty, 41, tied the knot in October 2019.
The couple first dated when they were teenagers but reconnected in 2018.
Congratulations to the couple.
