Sallah Message: Sanwo-Olu Asks To Meet Boy In ‘Calm Down’ Viral Video
Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has requested to meet a young boy in a viral video, asking his mother to ‘calm down’ as she attempted to beat him over an offence.

In the video, the boy could be seen tactically appealing to his mother regarding his wrong-doing, telling her to “calm down and rest a little”.

He also told her to pardon him for his offence, promising that “this is my last chance.”

In his Sallah message to Lagosians, Governor Sanwo-Olu on his official twitter handle @jidesanwoolu said he was inspired by the video “because of the deeper meaning it conveys,” urging residents to “calm down.”

He expressed;

I saw a video of a charming young boy online asking his mom to ‘calm down’ as she was set to punish him for a misdemeanour.

Governor Sanwo-Olu stated that the conversation of the boy with his mother was indeed funny, but it depicted the efforts parents put in moulding children into responsible adults.

He revealed that the video inspired this message to Lagosians as they need to ‘calm down’ to enjoy the coming Sallah holiday and festivity.

The Governor encouraged residents of the state to emulate and demonstrate a sense of self-restraint at this time the world is combating the scourge of COVID-19.

He implored everyone to exercise moderation in the celebration and observe prescribed COVID-19 safety protocols towards defeating the deadly coronavirus.

Governor Sanwo-Olu urged every Lagosian to ‘calm down’ and not get carried away, reminding them of the need to remain extremely careful.

The Governor then expressed interest to meet the boy saying;

As an aside, I would like to meet the young boy since we both now have exclusive rights to the phrasal verb ‘calm down’.
