Tijani Oniru, one of the sons of Oba Abiodun Idowu Oniru, the late Oniru of Iruland who died in 2019 and brother to popular OAP, Toolz Oniru, has been spotted in a viral video being attacked by some men who had ‘security’ inscribed on their outfits.
According to yet to be confirmed reports, the fracas broke out on Sunday, July 5 over alleged landed property owned by family of late Oniru.
It is alleged that Prince Tijani Oniru confronted the security officers who were on routine inspection to supervise a work being done by an Inventory and Enumeration group in the Oniru Estate neighborhood, (close to Millennium Estate Gates).
The men were working on the instruction of Iruland HRM Oba Abdul Wasiu Omogbolahan Lawal who was recently crowned as Oba.
The installation of the Oba has however been rejected by one of the ruling houses in Iruland, the Omowumi Abisogun Oniru cheiftaincy family, alleging that Lawal is neither a member of their family nor qualified to be the Oniru, Vanguard reports.
Since the installation, there have been allegations that the new Oba has been trying to lay claim on some properties, which allegedly caused the scuffle between Prince Tijani and the men.
In the video of the attack that surfaced on the internet, one of the ‘security’ men was heard saying that ‘he came to attack them’, implying that Tijani allegedly attacked the men first.
Tijani who was clearly out numbered was shoved, pushed and even slapped at some point in the shocking video.
A Twitter user @harleem360 who shared the video and also tagged Lagos government authorities in his tweet, wrote,

This is sad, pathetic, cruel, disheartening, heartbroken and Shameful. If you have any business around Oniru Estate in the next few weeks, just be careful because the person being rough handled in this video is Prince Tijani Oniru (TJ) cousin to the current oba of Iruland, oba Gbolahan Lawal
