117 Nigerians Evacuated From 3 East African Countries
117 Nigerians stranded in three East African countries due to the coronavirus pandemic have been evacuated.
The evacuees from Rwanda, Uganda, and Tanzania arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on Sunday, August 2.
The repatriation flight was conducted by a Nigerian airline, Azman Air.
The returnees, who tested negative for Covid-19 before departure, are expected to self-isolate for 14 days according to the protocol of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on Covid-19 and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
They are also expected to take another COVID-19 test before rejoining the society.
Meanwhile, 300 Nigerians arrived Murtala Muhammed Int’l Airport, Lagos from the United States of America at about 3pm on August 1 2020 via Ethiopian Airlines.
This brings the number of evacuees from the US to a total of 1,430.
