Total COVID-19 toll has surpassed 46,000 after Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirms 453 new cases on Saturday, August 8.

In the centre’s latest data posted on Twitter, there are now;

It would be recalled that on Friday, Nigeria recorded 45,687 total cases, 32,637 recoveries and 936 death cases across the country.

According to the new toll, there are now 46,140 total cases, 33,044 recoveries and 942 death cases across the country.

Also, with NCDC’s August 7 situation report, total samples tested nationwide have increased from 310,729 to 314,632.

Meanwhile, Lagos State Government has discharged 32 more coronavirus patients who recovered from the virus.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu disclosed this on Saturday, saying that those discharged included 12 female and 20 male, including five foreign nationals.

They were discharged from various isolation centres in the state – Agidingbi (1), Onikan (8), Mainland Infectious Disease Hospital (5), Gbagada (9), Vidic Centre (4) and LUTH Isolation Centres (5).
