Four persons have been confirmed dead and some severely injured in a fatal auto crash that occurred at Ikare, Akoko North-East local government in Ondo state.
The accident involved two trucks which rammed into some shops along the Oke Okorun area of the ancient town.
According to an eyewitness, a tanker conveying diesel had a break failure and crashed into a truck, which eventually crushed into commercial motorcyclists.
According to reports, the crash killed four persons died and injured many others. Among the dead were a pregnant woman, her two children and a motorcycle rider.
Eyewitnesses said the number of deaths was eight but a spokesman for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ondo, Omotola Ogungbawo, confirmed four deaths.
Officials of the FRSC, police personnel, DSS, and NSCDC were on ground to carry out the rescue operations.
Bodies of the dead and injured victim were taken to General Hospital mortuary and clinic respectively.
