‘He Is Hale And Hearty’ – Presidency Debunks Reports Of Mamman Daura Being Critically Ill, Shares Video As Proof (watch)

Presidency has urged Nigerians to disregard reports that President Muhammadu Buhari’s nephew, Mamman Daura had been flown to the United Kingdom for urgent medical attention.

It would be recalled that earlier in the week, there were reports that claimed that Daura was rushed to an unnamed hospital in the United Kingdom over his health condition resembling symptoms of COVID-19.

Reacting to this on Saturday morning, Personal Assistant to the President on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, on his verified Twitter handle posted a video of Daura in a room, having a phone conversation, serving as proof of his sound health status.

He however did not state if Daura truly traveled out of the country or not.

Debunking the rumour of Daura’s critical health status, Ahmad tweeted;

No iota of truth in the earlier story that Mallam Mamman Daura was flown to London for an emergency medical attention, he is hale and hearty, Nigerians should disregard that story.

A translation of Daura’s end of his telephone conversation in the video attached to the tweet read as follows;

The Governor has come, a day before I left. He came to condole for Samaila Isa (Funtua). Yes, a day before. Yes, it’s true. Amin, that is his time.

This comes few hours after Mohammed, son of elder statesman, Mamman Daura, announced that his father is in good health, saying reports of his illness are fabricated.

In a statement Mohammed said;

Today is the 21st of August, 2020 and for the past couple of days, we have been forced to deny, numerous times, a completely fabricated story about our father’s wellbeing. Alhamdulillah Baba is perfectly fine. He neither has a history of renal problems nor does he have any breathing difficulties like was suggested in the concocted news story.

He reminded those who may derive awkward pleasure from the negative story of their impermanence, saying;

Those that happily shared and even rejoiced over this fake news story should know one thing about life is that no one makes it out alive. We should collectively be humbled by our own mortality.
