‘Return Looted Funds’ – Nigerians Blast Diezani For Criticizing ‘Yahoo Boys’
Diezani Alison-Madueke, a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, has come under fire for criticizing internet fraudsters, popularly known as Yahoo Boys.
Diezani, while delivering a lecture at a virtual event organised by the Ijaw National Development Group on Friday, warned that the new trend ‘Yahoo Yahoo’ is a travesty of an unfolding tragedy for Nigeria, adding that only hard work could guarantee success.

She stated;
The ones that have swag, the Yahoo Yahoo boys as my son would say; these in short, are the role models they are looking at. These are the ones that reinforce negative societal norms and values.
Diezani, who is under trial for alleged fraud and has taken refuge in the United Kingdom, has however stirred reactions with her statement.
Many Nigerians took to social media to criticize Diezani for condemning internet fraudsters despite being involved in a fraud case herself.

Hushmummy, another fugitive, criticised Yahoo Yahoo Boys. The audacity, boldness and temerity. Because there are no serious consequences for looting the Nigerian treasury.

How can she steal that much and still has freeness of speech to call out Yahoo boys? This is a pure case of someone who psychologically has a defect, one that doesn’t prick her conscience to feel remorse. More people like her at the helm of affairs is killing us daily.

This is just so wrong on many levels. What she is saying is “right” BUT it shouldn’t come from someone like her. O wrong naw!
