The former US president shared his summer playlist with his fans and followers via social media on Monday, August 17 and it was indeed packed with some of the greatest hits released in 2020 so far.

Obama’s 53-track list songs include artists from different continents around the world such as Megan Thee Stallion, Frank Ocean, Bob Dylan, Rihanna, J. Cole, Rihanna, Childish Gambino, Bob Dylan, Andy Shauf, Little Simz, Chika, and more.

Interestingly, Nigerian music stars like Wizkid with his recently released single ‘Smile’ which features H.E.R.

Jorja Smith’s song ‘Honest’ which features Burna Boy made it on the list.

Similarly, Khalid’s ‘Know Your Worth’ remix which features Davido and Tems were also on the former president’s summer playlist.

Sharing the list on his Instagram page, Obama explained that he and his family have spent the past few months listening to the songs curated in the playlist and he decided to give followers a feel of his summer playlist.

The politician added that some of the artists featured in the list will also be performing at the Democratic National Convention in the US.

He wrote;

Over the past few months, I’ve spent a lot of time listening to music with my family. I wanted to share some of my favorites from the summer, including songs from some of the artists performing at this week’s @DemConvention. As always, it’s a mix of genres that travels through various eras. I think there’s something in here for everybody. Hope you enjoy it.

Ghanaian rapper, Shatta Wale’s ‘Already’ song with Beyonce also snagged a spot on the list.

The Nigerian superstars are not the first crop of artists to feature on the list. Last year, young singer, Rema, made it to Obama’s 2019 summer playlist with his single, ‘Iron Man’, was featured.
