Bashir Ahmad, PA To Buhari, Denies Reports That A Presidential Aide Is COVID-19 Positive
Bashir Ahmad, Personal Assistant to President Buhari on New Media, has denied reports that one of the aides of the president has contracted COVID-19.
SaharaReporters earlier today published a report claiming that Sarki Abba, the Senior Special Assistant on Domestic Affairs to the President tested positive for COVID-19.
The report stated that Abba tested positive for the virus two weeks ago and had not been seen in the Presidential Villa since then.
It added that a source in the Presidency said those who came in contact with him have also been asked to self-isolate.
However, Bashir via his Twitter handle debunked the claim and also shared a photo of Sarki in office today, September 1.
Posting a photo of Sarki and himself in the statehouse, Bashir tweeted;
I might have fallen and believed this story if I wasn’t in the Sarki Abba’s office when a friend sent me this tweet from Sahara Reporters. The news is not true, Sarki Abba is currently in his office, at the State House.
