Breaking: Lagos Cinemas, Gyms To Reopen From Sunday, Religion Centres Permitted To Observe Normal Gathering Periods
Lagos state Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has approved the reopening of cinemas, spas and gym centres from Sunday, September 20 after six months of being shutdown due to coronavirus pandemic.
The approval comes three days after Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN) in Lagos State and some Nollywood actors appealed to the Governor to reopen theatres.

The reopening of the centres was announced on Saturday, September 19, 2020, on Twitter by Gboyega Akosile, the Chief Press Secretary to the state governor.
He however stated that these entertainment centres must operate strictly at 33 per cent of capacity and must obtain necessary certification from Lagos State Safety Commission.

In addition, it would be recalled that Lagos state government permitted the reopening of mosques and churches from August 7 but only at 50 per cent capacity and for only Sunday and Friday gathering for both Christians and Muslims respectively.

Governor Sanwo-Olu has now announced that Muslims observe their 5 daily prayers and Christians can only observe daily prayers but with strict compliance to COVID-19 protocols.
