Crisis: UNILAG Visitation Panel Submits Report To FG
Special Visitation Panel set up by the President Muhammadu Buhari to look into the management crisis at the University of Lagos has submitted a report of its findings.
Federal Government had set up the panel to look into the crisis rocking UNILAG, following the removal of its Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, by its governing council led by varsity’s Pro-Chancellor, Wale Babalakin.
It directed Babalakin and Ogundipe, to recuse themselves from official duties, pending the outcome of the Special Visitation Panel set up by President Muhammadu Buhari.
FG also asked UNILAG Senate to reconvene to appoint an acting VC.

Subsequently, University of Lagos (UNILAG) Senate appointed Professor Folasade Ogunsola as acting Vice Chancellor, in line with Federal Government’s directive to nominate one amongst its members.
Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, who inaugurated the panel, headed by Prof. Tukur Sa’ad, had warned members against interference with the activities of UNILAG management.
Adamu received the report on behalf of the Federal Government in Abuja on Thursday, September 17.
He said the recommendations of the panel would be thoroughly scrutinised with the aim of full implementation.
The Chairman of the panel, Professor Tukur Sa’ad, stated that the submitted report will bring an end to the crisis in the university.
