DSS, Police Reportedly Invited Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage, Waje, Yemi Alade Over Political Statements
Ace music producer, Michael Ajereh, popuarly known as Don Jazzy and singer Tiwa Savage have allegedly been questioned by Department of State Security over political utterances critical of President Muhamamdu Buhari’s administration.
According to ThePunch, the duo were invited for an interview two weeks ago and were cautioned against making political statement against the administration on social media.
The report stated that singer, Tiwa Savage as well got invited after she ran a campaign tagged, ‘WeAreTired’, in reaction to a rise in cases of rape in the country.
Using the campaign platform, the singer and many other Nigerians called out the government to intervene in the situation.
Together with Don Jazzy, Savage was invited to the DSS office in Lagos two weeks ago during which they were allegedly spoken to regarding their posts on the social media.
The report states that since the invitation, the music executive and singer have both toned down their political activities on social media.
ThePunch also reports that singers Yemi Alade and Waje were also invited by Zubairu Muazu, who is said to be Lagos State Commissioner of Police.
Muazu while sharing efforts they were making to tackle rape and other problems in the state and country, warned the musicians to refrain from making political comments against President Buhari’s administration.
