Ellen DeGeneres
TV personality, Ellen DeGeneres has announced that her talk show is returning with new episodes from September 21 amid toxic workplace complaints by employees.

Widely lauded for projecting positivity with her comedy, DeGeneres found herself at the heart of a workplace misconduct controversy that rocked The Ellen DeGeneres Show for few months now.

In July, 10 former staffers and one current employee alleged the show was produced in a toxic environment.

They added that the ‘be kind’ mantra of the philanthropist only happens when the cameras are on, saying;  “It’s all for show. I know they give money to people and help them out, but it’s for show”.

The embattled host has now revealed on Tuesday September 8, that The Ellen DeGeneres Show will return to the studio for Season 18 from September 21.

Kerry Washington, Alec Baldwin, and Chrissy Teigen are set to make first appearances, while Chris Rock, Amy Schumer, Adam Sandler and Orlando Bloom will be appearing later in September.

In the announcement, she addressed the recent allegations against staff at her show saying: “I can’t wait to get back to work and back to our studio. And, yes, we’re gonna talk about it”.

DeGeneres was referring to allegations of racism, sexual harassment, and workplace toxicity leveled by current and former staffers of the show.

Last month, the show fired three of its top producers, Ed Glavin, Kevin Lema and Jonathan Norman after allegations of sexual harassment and misconduct.

Following the report, WarnerMedia, which produces the syndicated talk show, opened an investigation. DeGeneres herself, meanwhile, apologized to staff in a memo that was obtained by multiple media outlets.

Despite the rocky period, DeGeneres has received an outpouring of support from celebrities like Katy Perry and Kevin Hart.
