Some gunmen have kidnapped Olufemi Adeogun, the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of Ondo State General Hospital in Idoani, Ose Local Government Area.
It was gathered that Adeogun was abducted on Monday, alongside a record officer of the hospital, Foluke Ajibola, and a yet to be identified person on the bad portion of Ipele-Ido Ani road and their whereabouts were yet unknown.
A source speaking to ThePunch said the driver of the vehicle conveying the victims was shot in the arm while escaping from the scene.
He was later rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Tee-Leo Ikoro, confirmed the incident, saying the command had already deployed men to the forest in search of the victims.
He stated;
We are already combing the forest and I want to assure you that the victims would be rescued very soon.
This comes few days after Governor Rotimi Akeredolu launched Operation Amotekun to address the security challenges in the state.
