‘I Am Not Fela, Leave Me Out Of Your Schemes’ – Burna Boy Rejects Omoyele Sowore‘s Invitation To Join RevolutionNow Protest

Singer, Burna Boy has turned down an invite by former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore to join a nationwide #RevolutionNow protest scheduled for October 1.

The October 1 protest is planned to hold in all 36 states across Nigeria as well as in London, Sweden, Netherlands, San Francisco, New York, Washington DC, Germany and Canada against the state of the country.

Sowore, who is the convener of the protest and also the publisher of Sahara Reporters, on Tuesday, sent out the invitation via Instagram and Twitter.

He pointed to how Burna Boy is described by fans as a revolutionary musician and also often compared to late music legend, Fela Kuti, calling on him to live up to that title by joining the protest.

However, Burna Boy blatantly rejected his offer, saying he does not want to be part of Sowore’s ‘schemes’.

According to him, all Nigerian politicians are the same and he does not trust anyone, including Sowore.

He tweeted;

Sowore well, I am NOT FELA. I have said that countless times. But you sir, are a politician. Leave me out of your schemes.

Burna Boy added;

Reacting to Burna Boy‘s insistence on not being Fela, Sowore stated that the singer portrays Fela‘s character when it is artistically convenient.

The media personality also shared old tweets in which Burna Boy expressed that Fela lives in him and also wore panties on stage like the late music legend usually did.

He tweeted;
