A seven-year-old girl hospitalised for sexual assault and physical abuse has reportedly begged doctors to let her die.

The child, simply known as ‘Yaz‘, has been in a serious condition in a hospital after she was severely beaten on August 21.

According to a Crime Online report on Sunday September 20, the girl was taken to Hospital de Las Margaritas in Pueblo, Mexico in late August, after suffering from internal bleeding, a collapsed lung, burn marks on her back and cigarette burns on her arms and hands.

The victim also showed signs of sexual assault when she was examined by doctors.

In a statement given to investigators, doctors stated that Yaz told them;

I want to die. I don’t want to go back to my parents so that they keep hitting me.

The girl was reportedly taken to the hospital by a neighbour who witnessed the brutal treatment.

Yaz’s parents, Rafael N. and Alejandra N. have been charged with family violence and child abandonment, according to the Attorney General of the State Puebla.

The child’s uncle is reportedly on the run after being accused of sexually assaulting her.

Yaz was physically harmed on at least three other occasions but no arrest was made during those incidents.

In April, Yaz had surgery for intestinal damage and was admitted to hospital in February with cuts on her legs. Her father allegedly said the girl’s mother caused the cuts.

According to reports, in August, doctors did a graft on the burns to the 7-year-old’s buttocks that “destroyed part of the muscle”.

In view of this, detectives are interested in investigating the death of Yaz’s three-year-old sister, who died in June.

Her official cause of death was listed as accidental asphyxiation – the state of being deprived of oxygen, which can result in unconsciousness or death.

However, Development of Family Integrity (DIF) has now pushed to reopen the case.
