Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 125 new cases of the coronavirus infection, 113 recoveries in the country.
The agency declared this on its official twitter handle on Thursday, September 24.

According to the agency, the new infection takes the total number of confirmed cases in the country from 57,724 to 57,849.
NCDC said that the new cases were reported from 13 states of the federation.
According to the agency, till date, 57,849 cases have been confirmed, 49,098 cases have been discharged and 1,102 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the FCT.
Also, overall samples tested nationwide, according to NCDC‘s September 23 situation report, have increased from 487,786 to 494,577.
Meanwhile, the Federal Government has received a donation of three smart walkthrough testing booths from the government of the Republic of Korea.
The items were donated on Thursday in Abuja to boost Nigeria’s COVID-19 sample collection and testing capacity and to reduce infection among health workers.
Director-General of the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC), Chikwe Ihekweazu while receiving the items said this will support the government’s efforts to ramp up testing for the virus.
Country Director of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Woochan Chang at the event commended the Federal Government’s response to the pandemic.
He noted that the donations will further strengthen the response especially as the smart walkthrough sample collection booths will protect health workers from contracting the virus.
Chang stated;
The Smart Walk-through Booths will improve protection for medical staff during sample collection, and support mass screening for COVID19 in a timely and efficient manner.
The Minister of State for Health, Senator Adeleke Mamora also at the event appreciated Korea government for its continual support to strengthen Nigeria’s response to COVID19.
