NCDC Records 239 New Coronavirus Cases, 372 Recoveries, 10 Deaths

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has on Tuesday, September 1 confirmed 239 new cases, 372 recoveries and 10 deaths.

NCDC in a tweet on its official Twitter handle announced;

It would be recalled that on Monday, the country’s total caseload surpassed 54,000, having 54,00841,638 recoveries and 1,013 fatalities nationwide.

With the latest toll, total cases have now increased to 54,247 with 42,010 recoveries and 1,023 casualties across the country.

Also, NCDC in its latest situation report has revealed that overall samples tested nationwide have increased from 398,304 to 405,916 as at August 31.

In other news, 418 health workers have tested positive for COVID-19 in the state since its outbreak in Nigeria.

This was made known during the weekly update by the State Inter-Ministerial Committee on COVID-19 in Akure, the state capital, on Monday.

The chairman of the COVID-19 committee, Segun Fatusi, stated that all the affected doctors had, however, been treated and given a clean bill of health.

He said to ensure that health workers in the state work in a safe environment, a new set of personal protective equipment will be distributed to them on Thursday.
