Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has said that only 200 passengers are permitted on each incoming international flight.
This was disclosed in a memo signed by Musa Nuhu (pictured above), director-general/CEO of NCAA, on Friday, theCable reports.

He stated;
Following the announcement by the presidential task force (PTF) on COVID-19 on the partial resumption of international flights effective September 5, 2020.
Kindly note due to the limited number of approved incoming passengers (1,280) allowed daily per each airport, it is not possible to accommodate the requested schedule of airlines.
The Director-General expressed;
The approved schedule is based on a maximum number of 200 passengers per each incoming flight to Nigeria. There is no limit on the number of outgoing passengers. Each operator has only one frequency on an approved day of operation irrespective of the capacity of aircraft utilised.
According to the memo, the approved airlines for international flight schedule for both Abuja and Lagos airports include: Turkish Airlines, Air Senegal, Virgin Atlantic, Qatar, Africa World Airlines (AWA) Ghana.
Others are Emirates, British Airways, Ethiopian, Asky, Air Cote d’Ivoire, Egypt Air, Delta, Middle East and Kenya Airways.

NCAA added that the limit on the number of passengers on incoming flights will be increased in the coming weeks and additional flight frequencies will be allocated to airlines.
Meanwhile, the Coordinator of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Dr Sani Aliyu has stated that air passengers who fail to comply with safety guidelines put in place as international flights resume will be sanctioned.
He expressed that;
It is very likely we will put in place measures to enforce this by suspending travel up to six months or deny foreign travels altogether.
But beyond the sanctions, because as responsible citizens, we all want our country to continue to be COVID-19-free once we get on top of the pandemic, so, we expect the vast number of travellers to continue to comply with these simple, straightforward measures we are putting in place for the benefit of our country and for the health of our citizens.
Aliyu however warned that passengers entering the country must undergo the mandatory test to ascertain their COVID-19 status.
According to him, any passenger who exhibits any symptoms of coronavirus will not be granted access into the aircraft even after getting a medical report that indicates they are free from the virus.
