‘RIP JKRowling’: Author Accused Of Being Transphobic, Declared ‘Dead’ By Twitter Users For Making Cross-Dresser A Villain In Latest Book
Award-winning author, Joanne Rowling better known as JK Rowling has been accused of being transphobic after it was revealed that the villain in her latest book is a male serial killer who dresses as a woman to slay his victims.
The 55-year-old’s latest book titled Troubled Blood which was released today, September 15 was written under Rowling‘s pseudonym, Robert Galbraith.
In the book, detective Cormoran Strike work out what happened to missing GP Margot Bamborough in the novel. He fears she fell victim to Dennis Creed, who has been dubbed a ‘transvestite serial killer‘ for murdering his victims while wearing female clothing.
However, the Harry Potter author has now come under intense attack following an early review of the 900-page book by The Daily Telegraph, in which the critic states the book’s ‘moral seems to be: never trust a man in a dress‘
Subsequently, furious readers took to Twitter to share their thoughts, with many declaring her writing career dead under the hashtag #RIPJKRowling.
Others said the book is not transphobic at all and over-eager detractors should read it before jumping to conclusions.
The author has been accused of transphobia multiple times due to her opinion about the LGBTQ community.
In June, the author hit the headlines after she mocked an online article using the words ‘people who menstruate‘ instead of ‘women‘.
She was hit by what she described as ‘relentless attacks‘ after she wrote;
I’M SURE THERE USED TO BE A WORD FOR THOSE PEOPLE. SOMEONE HELP ME OUT. WUMBEN? WIMPUND? WOOMUD?
The novelist then penned a deeply personal essay to address the controversy, revealing she was sexually assaulted in her 20s and saying she still feels the scars of ‘domestic violence‘ in her first marriage.
See some reactions to her latest novel below;
Observer journalist Nick Cohen wrote;
I’ve read the latest Strike novel, and the claim it’s anti-trans is total shite. I can’t tell you why it is total shite without giving away the ending. So until you read it yourself, which you should, you will just have to trust me: this is total shitehttps://t.co/HBmw3dovQs

A Twitter user called Steve replied stating;
But when you combine it with all the negative stereotyping she’s done about trans women, it shows a clear pattern.
It’s not anti-trans as such but it does play into the fears that trans women are cis males looking to spy on women.

Controversial American broadcast journalist, Piers Morgan opined;
The fact #RIPJKRowling is trending says all you need to know about the woke brigade – they’re nastier & more viciously intolerant than anyone they preach about.

I can’t wait to read #TroubledBlood 🤓
Meanwhile, a bunch of narcissists have started a #RIPJKRowling to show us exactly why JK Rowling is 100% correct to stand with women in our fight to keep males out of female-only spaces. Btw # can be reported as abusive. #IStandWithJKRowling— la scapigliata (@lascapigliata8) September 14, 2020
#RIPJKRowling and this is why you’re a wrinkly bitch, maybe if you weren’t absolutely fucking disgusting and transphobic pic.twitter.com/lC4FKylJRs

However, with Rowling’s history as a transphobe, this isn’t the case. This book is a clear attempt to demonize the transgender community, making it seem like something only “creeps” are a part of, instead of an actually legitimate way of life.

It’s hate speech.
That’s the problem. An influential person encourages hatred against a minority.
It’s not right, and people are right to be angry.— Alicia Mask It Or Casket (@EldenRay) September 14, 2020
i have NEVER in my life felt uncomfortable or unsafe because a trans woman was using the female restroom.
i’m just there to pee, i’m not sure why i would be concerned about other people’s genitals, that’s extremely weird and creepy #RIPJKRowling— ZOE loves pussy and manatees (@lwtdaffodils) September 15, 2020
#RIPJKRowling So from what I can gather, people are mad because her latest book is about a murderous cis man who’s crossdressing for the murders. So why then is everyone saying that a trans person is the villain and being so outraged about a bloody piece of fiction?

#RIPJKRowling You gave us #HarryPotter and I’ll love ya for that, but why would you go there? Why would you spread hate to all of us that follow you? AND you didn’t even offer an apology which means you MEANT everything pic.twitter.com/U6pHkYOZvi

This is more than just cancel culture now. She’s transphobic. Attacking a minority group because why? She’s a shitty author and no doubt a terf. She deserves the backlash.

Lol #RIPJKRowling is trending and all the gender kiddos are outraged. Her crime? Writing about a man wearing women’s clothing while murdering women. I wonder why the genderists feel attacked? It’s a mystery. pic.twitter.com/edHjYRkaZn

it’s just a little sus and seems OFF that she’s decided to write her book about a man dressing as a woman to kill people. say what you want, but to those of us in the trans community, it seems less like she’s just writing a new book and more like an attack
