‘Women Can Make Their Choices’ – Aproko Doctor’s Contraceptive-Abortion Comedy Skit Sparks Controversy (video)
Nonso Egemba, a medical expert popularly known as Aproko Doctor, has sparked controversy on Twitter following his comedy skit that encouraged safe sex with the use of contraceptives and discouraged intake of harmful substances for abortion.
The social media personality is well known for dishing out medical tips on the microblogging platform and teaching followers to live a healthy life.
He recently launched a comedy skit series where he takes on the character of a native doctor who gives medical advice to clients.
Previous skits has garnered commendation from many fans, however his latest video where he advised a lady seeking abortion has sparked discussion.
In the skit, Egemba begins by speaking Igbo proverbs before the lady, who starred as Cecilia, came in, admitting she did not use contraceptives but drank concoctions after having sex.
The video, however, took a comic twist after the spiritualist procured prescription drugs, asking the pregnant lady to go for antenatal, prepare for childbirth, and invite him when her child is born.

Shortly after the video was posted on social media, Twitter users aired their different opinions about the skit.
While some users praised Aproko Doctor for his educative yet entertaining content, others condemned him for taking away the choice of a woman and failing to suggest abortion as an alternative.
See some mixed reaction below;
Why does Aproko doctor think he has the right to tell a woman what to do with her body? She came to the shrine looking for an abortion but he was so biased, would he help take care of the child when it’s born??? A lot of Nigerian doctors are this way. Tueh. So disgusting to see. https://t.co/pI9d3RYgR8

So you didn’t see that Cecilia refused to use contraception, even turning down the use of Condom which is supposed to be basic Common Sense for Contraception.
If you have a problem with @aproko_doctor latest skit, you’re lacking common sense TBH.

This wokeness around Aproko Doctor’s video is confusing me.
Are we not in Nigeria anymore? The only time abortion is allowed in Nigeria, is when the baby is when the intention is to save the mother’s life. I think sex-selective abortion is also allowed. The noise around Aproko…— Your Daddy (@ToyosiGodwin) September 1, 2020
Aproko Doctor’s Cecelia skit has sparked up a conversation about ABORTION on Twitter NG.
But the question REMAINS: what is the legal way to have an abortion in Nigeria? Is there any?
Abortion is permitted in 🇳🇬 only if having the child will put the mother’s life in danger.

After whatsoever advice given to a lady, its still her choice to decide what to do. And if the person she meets don’t want to do what she wants she can try another place or another person.
He is just speaking medically. Nothing wrong.— lets roll🎲🎲 (@EmzyEno1) September 1, 2020
Excellent content and even better delivery. I see you featuring in Nollywood sometime soon.
For those criticizing the reluctance to aid abortion, kindly watch again and listen to the questions asked on pregnancy prevention. You can’t eat your cake and have it!— Bunmi Sipe (@shekpe) September 1, 2020
I taught abortion is illegal in Nigeria
