Buhari Wishes US President Trump, Wife Quick Recovery From COVID-19President Muhammadu Buhari has wished US President Donald Trump and his wife Melania a quick recovery from COVID-19 following the announcement of their test results on Friday morning.

The US President on Friday took to social media to announce that himself and the First Lady have contracted the disease.

Reacting to the news, President Buhari in a statement on Friday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, sympathized with them.

He stated that the incident of COVID-19 in the White House manifests the challenge posed by the pandemic across the world, and the difficulty in containing the spread.

While wishing the American First Family a speedy turnaround in their current health status, President Buhari urged more compliance among Nigerians to protocols, and adherence to the advice of medical doctors, particularly epidemiologists.

Meanwhile, the 14-year-old son of Trump and Melania tested negative for the coronavirus despite his parents’ testing positive.

Melania Trump’s spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham made this known saying;

Barron has tested negative and all precautions are being taken to ensure he’s kept safe and healthy.

In addition, US Vice President Mike Pence and his wife Karen tested negative for the virus.

Pence’s press secretary Devin O’Malley disclosed this in a statement on Friday, saying;

As has been routine for months, Pence is tested for COVID-19 every day.

This morning, Pence and his wife tested negative for COVID-19. Pence remains in good health and wishes the Trumps well in their recovery.

More than 200,000 people have died from COVID-19 and over 7.5million infected in the United States alone. The elderly and those with pre-existing conditions have been especially hard hit.
