COVID-19 Palliatives: Lagos Residents Loot Another Warehouse In Ikorodu

It would be recalled that a similar incident took place at a warehouse in Mazamaza community on Thursday, October 22.

Hoodlums broke into the warehouse located on Benster Crescent, popularly called Monkey Village, in the early hours of the day and invited residents of the area to join them in looting the food packages.

Subsequently, Lagos State Government condemned the looting of food palliative packages donated to the state by the Private Sector Coalition against COVID-19 (CACOVID) group.

The Government noted that the warehouse in question is not State owned and its usage was made available to the CaCOVID group.

It stated that it had been allowed to commence rebagging of food items allotted to it from the quantities meant for South West States.

In Ikorodu, the excited residents of Igbogbo could be seen in various videos moving out the food items like beans, noodles and rice in different quantities.

Earlier today, angry youths broke into a warehouse located in Osun, Kwara and Cross Rivers states, carting away palliatives with no interruption by security agencies.

Many of them in various videos shared online claimed the government was hoarding the food items and had no intention of sharing it to the masses.
