Lagos May Ease Curfew On Friday – Sanwo-Olu
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said the 72-hour curfew imposed on the state to curtail the arson and widespread violence that has ravaged the state might be eased by Friday.
The governor said this during an interview with Arise TV on Thursday, October 22, adding that the easing of the curfew was necessary for Lagos residents to restock food supplies and other essential commodities.

He expressed;
The government is looking at easing the lockdown in the state in the next 24 hours, after evaluating the situation on the ground around the state. This is to allow residents to get access to food and other provisions they might be running out of.
Once we see the streets are cleared up and all the agitation and high nerves have gone down, we might slow down the curfew by tomorrow (Friday) or next tomorrow (Saturday) at the latest.
Sanwo-Olu initially announced the imposition of a 24-hour curfew on Tuesday afternoon following over 10 days of #EndSARS protests around the state, which later on transitioned to an unrest after being hijacked by thugs.
Hours after the initial 4pm time it was to start, men believed to be officers of the Nigerian Military opened fire on the protesters gathered at the Lekki toll gate. Many were killed, others injured and some declared missing.
This sparked a widespread outrage as hoodlums took to the streets vandalising everything in sight and harming people.
