Chairman of the Forum, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, said the forum was in Lagos to pay solidarity to Sanwo-Olu on the mayhem and also to commiserate with families of those who lost their lives in the #EndSARS protests.

Akeredolu said;

The Governors of the South West States of Nigeria wish to solidarise with the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo Olu, on the unfortunate occurrences of the past few days in Lagos State, which have impacted, negatively, on the whole region. It is disquieting, to assert the least, that a protest, widely acclaimed as peaceful and purpose-drlven, has been hijacked by some people, ostensibly to execute a destructive design.

As we await reports from relevant agencies and action of the Government, we appeal to the young one: again to suspend the #ENDSARS protest, remain calm and vigilant.

He added;

We commiserate with the families of victims of violence across Lagos State and slain policemen. We pray that the Almighty grant them the fortitude to bear these avoidable losses.

Also, Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, speaking on behalf of the team, urged citizens and youths to refrain from volatile and incitive languages, which are capable of igniting crisis in the country.

Fashola urged residents to embrace peace and work in unity for a greater Lagos.

The governors also said the coordinated attacks were an attempt to weaken the Southwest economy.

The forum also commiserated with the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, on the sacrilege committed on his palace, as well as Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on the attacks on his businesses and property.
