#EndSARS: Lagos Judicial Panel Suspended As Rinu, Majekodunmi Boycott Sitting Over Protesters’ Frozen Accounts By CBN
Lagos State Judicial Panel Of Inquiry, set up to address the issue of police brutality, has been suspended due to the absence of two youth representatives – Oluwarinu ‘Savvy Rinu’ Oduala and Temitope Majekodunmi.
Their absence may not be unconnected to the freezing of the accounts of 19 individuals and a public affairs company linked to the #EndSARS protests in which one of them, Odulala is said to have been affected.
CBN obtained a court order for the move on Friday in pursuant to a motion ex parte filed by the apex bank on October 20, 2020 before Federal High Court in Abuja.

The court order directed the affected banks to freeze all transactions on the accounts for a period of 180 days pending the outcome of an investigation currently being conducted by the CBN.
The absence of youth representatives has now forced the panel to adjourn sitting for a week.
Chairperson of the panel, Justice Doris Okuwobi (rtd.), said the panel would have to suspend Saturday sitting, as it could not form a quorum in the absence of the youth members of the panel.
She announced that the panel will reconvene on November 14 after major consultation with stakeholders.
