Lagos To Close Agege, Works Road For Three Days, Lists Alternative Routes
Lagos state government has announced plans to close Adejobi Street, Agege, Adegbola level crossing and the works road for three days, starting Monday.
The planned closure is to allow for the ongoing works of the Nigeria Railway Modernization Project (Lagos-Ibadan section) with extension to Lagos Port, Apapa.
Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde who disclosed this in a statement, explained that this phase of construction works on the designated routes would focus on the closure of the track stress dispersion and locking at various level crossings.
The road closures will begin on November 9, 11 and 12, 2020 from 8 p.m. at 7 a.m. on each date.
He urged motorists to use alternative routes during the construction works to improve the free flow of traffic on the aforementioned dates.
Oladeinde said motorists traveling on the Adejobi, Agege axis would be diverted to Fagba Crossing, Toyin Crossing and Ashade Underpass to access their desired destinations.
He also advised road users plying Adegbola Street to use Works Road, Oba Akinjobi Way to Ikeja Underbridge, Ashade Underpass, Airport Underbridge, Ikeja Along and Local Government Secretariat Way to get to their desired destinations.
Oladeinde stated that the closure was planned to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted flow of work on the tracks while imploring motorists to obey traffic instructions put in place to facilitate travel.
He called on residents, especially motorists who use these corridors to endure the pain, adding that the project aimed at building a seamless multimodal transport system that would meet the transport needs of a larger population. large.
