Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah Tests Positive For COVID-19Liverpool forward, Mohamed Salah has tested positive for coronavirus while on international duty with Egypt.

The Egyptian is on international duty where he was due to play against Togo in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Saturday evening in Cairo, before the reverse fixture on Tuesday.

Egyptian Football Federation in a statement on Friday, November 13 stated that the 28-year-old returned a positive test but is not displaying any symptoms.

They added that the other members of the team had tested negative.

The statement reads;

The medical swab conducted on the mission of our first national football team showed that our international player, Mohamed Salah, the star of Liverpool, was infected with the coronavirus after his test came positive, although he does not suffer from any symptoms.

Other members of the team tested negative and our international star underwent the medical protocol after coordinating the doctor of the team.

Mohammed Abu Al-Ola with his English club Liverpool, in addition to isolating him inside his room and also isolating all contacts. Our star is subject to more checks during the coming hour.

Salah’s positive test comes just days after he attended the wedding of his brother Nasr held in the country’s capital of Cairo.

The player will now self-isolate and could miss Liverpool’s next two matches.
