Seven Nigerians Who Participated In #EndSARS Protest In Egypt Face Deportation – Abike Dabiri-Erewa
Abike Dabiri-Erewa, chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), has said seven Nigerians arrested in Egypt for participating in an #EndSARS protest are facing deportation.
On October 18, eight Nigerians were arrested for holding a protest in front of the Nigerian High Commission in Cairo without a permit.
Dabiri-Erewa, giving an update in a tweet on Monday, November 2, has now said the Nigerians will be deported for lack of resident permits/visas.
She however noted that the eighth person will be freed because he has a residency permit.
Dabiri-Erewa said he will have to sign an undertaking not to be involved in unauthorised activities while still in the country.
The NIDCOM chairman wrote;
Update on the 8 Nigerians detained in Cairo for protesting without a permit 7 of them are to be deported to Nigeria for for lack of resident permits.The only one that has Residency will get final clearance from the Minister of Interior.

Dabiri-Erewa expressed;
