Trump Campaign Files Lawsuit To Stop Vote Counting In Michigan

Trump Paid Just 750 Dollars In Federal Income Tax In 2016 And 2017 - ReportPresident Donald Trump’s campaign has said it has filed a lawsuit in order to halt the vote count in battleground Michigan on Wednesday, November 4.

The latest count gives Democratic challenger Joe Biden a small lead ahead of Trump but the race is still too early to call.

Trump campaign manager, Bill Stepien, giving a reason for the suit in a statement on Wednesday, said that;

The campaign has not been provided with meaningful access to numerous counting locations to observe the opening of ballots and the counting process, as guaranteed by Michigan law.

He said a suit was filed on Wednesday in the Michigan Court of Claimsto halt counting until meaningful access has been granted”.

Michigan is a critical battleground state that helped deliver Trump the presidency four years ago, along with Wisconsin and Pennsylvania but neither of the states have been called yet.

Here’s a portion of the statement released by the campaign:

As votes in Michigan continue to be counted, the presidential race in the state remains extremely tight as we always knew it would be. President Trump’s campaign has not been provided with meaningful access to numerous counting locations to observe the opening of ballots as the counting process, as guaranteed by Michigan law.

Experts expect that much of the remaining absentee votes, which couldn’t be processed until Monday or Tuesday, will lean towards Biden.
