Doctor Dies From COVID-19 Days After Releasing Video Alleging She Was Being Mistreated By Medics Because She‘s Black (video)
A medical doctor identified as Dr Susan Moore on Tuesday, December 22 died few days after she released a video calling for help over an alleged mistreatment by medics because of her race as a black woman.
In the video, the 52-year-old said she didn’t trust the hospital and wanted to be transferred, adding that they said they were going to send her home despite the fact that she was critically ill.
Late Dr Moore said her symptoms were ignored, downplayed and dismissed so she had to release a video begging her fellow doctors to save her.
She added;
This is how black people get killed when you send them home and they don’t know how to fight for themselves.
Following her death, friends and colleagues took to social media to mourn her while calling for an end to medical racism.
Below the video released by Dr Moore before her death and reactions to it following her passing away;
Dr. Susan Moore died today from COVID, but HOW she died is unacceptable. She posted a video to Facebook from an Indiana hospital days before her death about mistreatment. “This is how black people get killed when you send them home and they don’t know how to fight for themselves” https://t.co/iSF8rs7qmI pic.twitter.com/3a8qE6DhN3

She posted a FB video reporting denial of adequate treatment for COVID-19 and pain management by white medical staff at @IU_Health and pleading for help.
She was discharged.

Dr. Susan Moore, 52yo Family Med, Carmel, IN, died of #covid19 12/20. Despite being an MD & self-advocating, racial disparities in healthcare damaged her spirit & body. She leaves a 19yo son, of whom she was so proud. PLEASE HEAR HER. #healthcareheroeshttps://t.co/NYKRx2EVoE pic.twitter.com/VipmdSZIVW
