Immigration Denies Caterer Passport Renewal Over #EndSARS Protest
In continued acts of clamping down on #EndSARS protesters, a caterer, who provided food to protesters and helped in sourcing for funds for a wounded protester, has been denied international passport renewal by Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS).
The young lady named Mosopefoluwa Odeseye revealed this via her Twitter page on Wednesday, December 16.
Odeseye was among those who volunteered to provide meals to protesters at Alausa #EndSARS protest ground in October.
She is also among 20 bank accounts that have been frozen by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) based on an order to do so from a federal high court in Abuja.
The court order directed the affected banks to freeze all transactions on the accounts for a period of 180 days pending the outcome of an investigation currently being conducted by the CBN.
The bank had told a Federal High Court that they are under investigation for terrorism, an allegation they have all denied.

Odeseye in her tweet said she had gone to renew her passport at the Alausa Passport Office, Lagos State, but was informed that she had been blacklisted and was asked to proceed to Abuja.
She tweeted;
First, it was Central Bank locking up all my bank accounts, now it is Nigerian immigration not issuing my passport at Alausa! To what end, Nigeria? To what end? I applied for a re-issue at Alausa, captured some days ago and asked to come pick today then I’m told that I have been blacklisted?

She added that she was instructed to go to Abuja as nothing can be done at Alausa to rectify the issue.
In addition, I’ve been instructed to go to Abuja! I was told they can’t do anything about my passport @ Alausa. Same Alausa @nigimmigration I captured & got a call to come today!

However, a top immigration officer, who confirmed the development to ThePunch, said they were acting based on orders from above.
She stated;
We have asked her to see the Assistant Comptroller General in charge of passports at the head office in Abuja. We are only acting on instruction.
