Popular Public Speaker, Ubong King Dies At 48
Popular public speaker and coach, Ubong King has breathed his last in the early hours of December 26, 2020.
The security expert and founder of Protection Plus Security Limited, who was also known as the ‘Troublemaker’, was said to have tested positive for COVID-19, Independent reports.
However, as at the time of filing this report, there was no official statement about the cause of his death.
Until his death, King was a former chairman of The American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS) International Chapter 206, Lagos State.
He facilitated and spoke at leadership and management retreats within and outside Nigeria.
King began his career as a volunteer guard in the protocol department of the church he was attending at the time.
He also worked as a consultant in a piggery, before venturing into the security industry and went on to start Protection Plus Security Limited.
King curated ‘ThinknationXX’ annual event that gathered people across Nigeria and Africa to help them with mental shift for business growth.
He will be fondly remembered for his favourite quote while speaking during business coaching sessions – “the only way to get out of trouble is to enter trouble”.
Family, friends, colleagues are in grief over his shocking demise, as the news has left many praying for comfort for the family he left behind across social media platforms.
He is survived by his wife, Unyime Ivy-King, and four children.
