Fulani Quit Notice: ‘Bring Soldiers, Police To Arrest Me’ - Activist Sunday Igboho Dares Governor Makinde
L-R: Yoruba activist, Sunday Agboho and Oyo state Governor, Seyi Makinde.

Popular Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has challenged Oyo state Governor, Seyi Makinde to arrest him if he can over the eviction order he issued to herdsmen last week.

The Yoruba activist last Friday visited Igangan community in Ibarapa East local government to issue quit notice to herdsmen residents in the area after accusing them of perpetrating criminal activities like kidnapping and banditry.

However, Governor Seyi Makinde countered the order in a state broadcast, declaring nobody has the right to evict anybody from any parts of Oyo State.

Defying the Governor’s order on Friday January 22, Igboho and his large supporters stormed Igangan, to flush out Fulanis and their leader, Seriki Saliu Kadri.

In a viral undated video, which emerged on Friday, Igboho blasted Makinde in Yoruba language.

Though he didn’t mention the Governor’s name, he said enough for viewers to know he was referring to Makinde.

Igboho accused the Governor of backing herdsmen by stating that nobody has the right to evict anyone from a state.

The Governor and Igboho have been at logged heads after the latter dumped Makinde who he supported in the 2019 elections.

According to Igboho;

You can bring all Fulanis to Yorubaland, if you like, you unfortunate ones. It will not be well with you. You are threatening me in my fatherland with Fulanis. You will not prosper.

Is it the Fulani’s that make the laws of the land? Have you forgotten when you were ‘bankrolling’ me when you wanted to become Governor and all I did for you all during the elections, and now you dare threaten me?

Well, I don’t believe that you are serious with your threats yet, until you bring all the soldiers and policemen to arrest me in my house, before I know you are serious. You are all fools.

Meanwhile, Governor Seyi Makinde has maintained that no one has the right to ask anyone to leave any part of the country.

Also in a tweet on Friday, the Oyo state governor stressed that;

Enemies are not people of any tribe or ethnic group but anyone engaged in criminal activities. I pledged our administration’s support as they carry out their duties of maintaining law and order in our state. I restated that our enemies are not people of any tribe or ethnic group but anyone engaged in criminal activities in the state.
