Victor Osimhen Scores Second Hat-Trick In Napoli WinNapoli have announced that striker Victor Osimhen has tested positive for COVID-19.

The Italian side made this known on Friday just a day after the former Lille player returned from Nigeria where he had gone for the festive period.

Osimhen who has not yet come in contact with any teammate will remain in isolation for some days till he recovers from the virus.

The club made the announcement in a tweet saying;

The club can confirm that Victor Osimhen has tested positive for COVID-19 following his return to Italy. Osimhen is currently asymptomatic and has not come into contact with the rest of the squad.

The striker rose to fame while featuring for Nigeria at the 2015 Fifa U17 World Cup staged in Chile.

There, he propelled Emmanuel Amuneke’s side to a record fifth world title, while his dazzling performances earned him the Silver Ball award behind compatriot Kelechi Nwakali.

He also walked home with the Golden Boot prize after finding the net on ten occasions.

On arrival, the former Lille and Royal Charleroi star was subjected to the compulsory COVID-19 PCR test and his Serie A outfit disclosed that Osimhen posted a positive result.
