NCDC Announces 917 New COVID-19 Cases, 255 Recoveries, 9 Deaths
Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday, January 3 announced 917 new coronavirus confirmed infections, 255 discharged patients and 9 casualties.
The health agency made the announcement via its Twitter page with the new cases recorded in 16 states and Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The breakdown of the new cases are as follows; FCT-222, Lagos-214, Kaduna-119, Plateau-92, Nasarawa-50, Oyo-41, Adamawa-33, Ondo-32, Abia-28, Ogun-19, Rivers-17, Kano-16, Yobe-14, Edo-8, Anambra-6, Ekiti-5 and Jigawa-1.

With the new toll, the total number of cases in the country has now increased from 89,163 to 90,080 while figures of discharged patients moved from 74,789 to 75,044.
A total of 1,311 deaths have now been recorded thus far in Nigeria as 9 new casualties were reported yesterday.
Our discharges today includes 59 community recoveries in Lagos State managed in line with guidelines.

Meanwhile, NCDC has advised Nigerians to continue to practice all COVID-19 prevention measures while awaiting your test result.
These measures include wearing of face mask, avoiding large gatherings, observing physical distancing and washing of hands frequently with soap & water.
