NCDC Records 576 New COVID-19 Cases, 416 Recoveries, 8 Deaths
Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Saturday, January 2 announced 574 new coronavirus cases, 416 successfully treated patients and 8 deaths.
The health agency made the announcement via its Twitter page with the new cases recorded in 14 states and Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The breakdown of the new cases are as follows; Lagos-277, FCT-90, Oyo-51, Nasarawa-49, Sokoto-23, Anambra-14, Bauchi-11, Imo-11, Kano-11, Edo-10, Plateau-10, Ogun-9, Osun-5, Jigawa-3 and Rivers-2.

With the new toll, the total number of cases in the country has now increased from 88,587 to 89,163 while figures of discharged patients moved from 74,373 to 74,789.
A total of 1,302 deaths have now been recorded thus far in Africa’s most populous country as 8 new deaths was reported yesterday.
Our discharges today include 287 community recoveries in Lagos State and 60 community recoveries in Plateau State managed in line with guidelines.
