A Republican lawmaker, Marjorie Taylor Greene has filed articles of impeachment against Joe Biden, barely 24 hours after he was inaugurated as the 46th President of the United States.

Greene, a strong supporter of former President Donald Trump, filed two articles of impeachment against President Biden on Thursday alleging abuse of power when he served as Vice President.

She said Biden withheld billions of dollars in US aid to Ukraine in order to prevent an investigation into his son Hunter‘s business dealings in the country.

The Republican lawmaker said;

I’ve just filed articles of impeachment on President Joe Biden, we will see how this goes.

She then immediately used her announcement to raise money for an “Impeach Joe Biden Fund”.

In a press release, Greene accused Biden of “enabling bribery” and “blatant nepotism” by utilizing his son Hunter Biden’s position in a Ukrainian energy company, Burisma.

She wrote in a statement on Thursday;

President Joe Biden is unfit to hold the office of the Presidency. His pattern of abuse of power as President Obama’s Vice President is lengthy and disturbing.

President Biden has demonstrated that he will do whatever it takes to bail out his son, Hunter, and line his family’s pockets with cash from corrupt foreign energy companies.

The congresswoman last week announced last week that she planned to file for impeachment.

Biden has repeatedly denied involving U.S. foreign policy in Ukraine with his son’s work. Republicans in the Senate after months of investigation last year found no evidence of wrong doing from Biden.

Greene, who had her Twitter account temporarily suspended over the weekend, has previously expressed racist viewpoints and support of QAnon conspiracy theories.

QAnon is a disproven and discredited far-right conspiracy theory alleging that a secret cabal of Satan-worshipping, cannibalistic pedophiles is running a global child sex-trafficking ring and plotting against former US president Donald Trump, who has been fighting the cabal.

Greene gained large followings on social media in part by posting provocative videos and comments and has also embraced QAnon.

Her articles of impeachment are not expected to be taken serious given the Democrat‘s control of both houses – House of Representatives and Senate.
