Super Falcons forward, Rasheedat Ajibade, has joined Atletico Madrid from Norwegian side, Avaldsnes.
Ajibade, who moved from Nigerian side, Robo Queens to Europe, made the move to Madrid following the expiration of her contract with Avaldsnes in December 2020.
She has now become the second Nigerian to play for Madrid after Francisca Ordega who had a loan spell at the club in 2017.
Announcing the new deal on Twitter, Ajibade said it’s an opportunity for her to join the Spanish club.

Ajibade speaking about her new deal told the club’s official website;
It is a great privilege and an opportunity to be here. I am excited to be a part of this team and I hope that together we achieve success. It is a great step in my career and a great challenge for me and I am ready to give it my all.
She added;
I am a versatile, energetic and hard-working player. I tell the Atléticos that I’m going to do my best so that they and the team can feel proud.
Ajibade has now joined other Nigerian female players like Charity Adule (Eibar), Asisat Oshoala (Barcelona), Toni Payne (Sevilla), Rita Chikwelu and Chidinma Okeke (Madrid CFF) in Spain.
