Fabinho is set to miss Liverpool’s League match against Leicester City this weekend.

Liverpool’s mounting defensive woes has heightened as Fabinho is ruled out of tomorrow’s match against Leicester.

The Brazilian midfielder cum defender has joined the list of injured Liverpool defenders- Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez are the prominent names on the list.

Van Dijk is out after undergoing surgery for an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury as he was fouled by Jordan Pickford in the last Merseyside derby.

Joe Gomez is in a race to be fit for the League Champions, after suffering a knee injury on international duty.

Joel Matip is out for the season after suffering a ligament damage in the 3-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur in January.

Fabinho had just returned from a hamstring injury for last Sunday’s 4-1 defeat by the table leaders Manchester City.

He suffered a relapse this week and Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp revealed Fabinho will be out of the game against Leicester City.

The 27-year-old faces a fight to be ready for the Liverpool’s Champions League first leg clash with RB Leipzig next week.

Klopp maybe left with no other option than to hand either Ben Davies or Ozan Kabak a Premier League debut alongside English midfielder cum defender, Jordan Henderson.

Speaking with the media on Friday ahead of Saturday’s clash with Leicester, Klopp said;

With the boys we have had some sessions together where we could walk with the defensive setup and that is really important. Nat Phillips has done well (in defence previously) and Hendo.

Jamie Vardy is obviously a proper challenge in this league. The way he plays, the way he gets set up by his mates, that is a proper job to do but we can only do it as a whole team. We have to avoid the passes to him, Jamie is a world class player in a specific area of the pitch and with his speed, it is really tricky.

Klopp’s side will be looking to return back to winning form after losing their last three away games in the League.
